Impressions is the sixth release from Budapest's Blue Sun label. Adam Gollob, a Hungarian multi-instrumentalist and guitarist for Fingerfisher, crafts concentrated, listening-based music that deliberately crosses genre boundaries. The work is a profound reflection of transformation, embracing imperfection. Gollob, trained in jazz guitar at Bartók Conservatory, draws inspiration from figures like John Coltrane while documenting a brief but intensive creative period; music listened to, festivals visited, thoughts and conversations informed the composition. Sonically, the album blends new wave, indie rock, alternative electronic, and neo-psychedelic styles, with hypnotic synthesizers, raw drum textures, introspective lyrics, and a fuzzy yet soothing atmosphere. The material reforms with each replay into an ever-changing musical landscape. Impressions was initially released in a limited 50-copy cassette edition in September 2025, with vinyl distribution following via Rush Hour (Amsterdam).
